Thank you to everyone who came to the RHC inaugural Family Gala to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Childline. It was a wonderful evening supported by our community in so many ways. We were thrilled with the response to the event which was sold out with 400 guests and a waiting list. It was very special to see many generations enjoying the evening as well as raising awareness and funds for Childline. Our thanks also to all those who supported the charity by donating prizes to our raffle and auction and who also made donations directly to the charity. The RHC community is amazing at pulling together and last Saturday we were thrilled to raise £65,000 for Childline.

Please take a look at this short video to see highlights from the evening.

We were delighted to have Dame Esther Rantzen join us for the evening and she spoke passionately about the invaluable work that Childline does.

Childline is as relevant and needed in today’s world as it was when it was founded 30 years ago. A child contacts Childline every 20 seconds to talk about family problems, bullying and depression. That's over a million calls from children every year.

For anyone who was unable to join us on Saturday but would like to make a donation to Childline please follow this link https://www.jumblebee.co.uk/rhcchildlinedonate Our star auction prize was very generously donated by an RHC member, offering an 8 night stay at Emakoko Lodge, Tangulia Mara Camp, Ol Malo and Lewa House, Huge thanks to Bush and Beyond for the trip of a lifetime, the ultimate safari staying in some of the very best lodges in Kenya. Ol Malo is a privately-owned family ranch and game sanctuary in Kenya’s wild Northern Laikipia Province, the heartland of the Samburu tribe. Join the Francombe family at their beautiful home in the heart of the African bush for an intimate and highly personal experience of luxury ranch living. Tangulia Mara Camp has twenty-five years experience of guiding visitors to the Mara, to give guests a truly authentic insight to Maasai culture, customs, beliefs, and knowledge of the fauna and flora which adorns this beautiful area. The Emakoko is a boutique lodge uniquely positioned on the edge of the Nairobi National Park. It is a home away from home passionate about ensuring a Kenya for tomorrow.

Our thanks to Peboryon, the incredible Cornish cake maker who designed and made the cake for the evening. It was a magnificent cake and was over 3 and a half feet tall. It looked amazing and tasted delicious. The cake theme reflected how most of the conversations with Childline happen over social media. The Emojis are a safe and simple way to reflect how each important conversation is a step in the right direction towards help and support for each child who makes the brave and important decision to connect with Childline. We were generously sponsored by Direct Colour who printed the commemorative programmes and menus for the evening. Direct Colour is a Kingston based company offering high quality printing and we were delighted with everything they printed for us.

Keep posting the messages and thank you for spreading the word. And don't forget to like RHC on Facebook and to follow us on Instagram and Twitter for regular updates and news.
