The Really Helpful Club are delighted to continue our collaboration with IW Schooling Consultants as last year’s programme was such a huge success.

We are running a Surviving the 11+ information event for the parents of children presently in years 4 and 5 on Monday 11th June in Wimbledon between 9.15am and 1pm.

The cost will be £60 per person including refreshments.

The workshop will be run by Isobel Walters of IW Schooling Consultants who is a teacher with extensive experience in preparing children for entrance exams into top London and boarding schools. There will be practical and realistic help on understanding the exams and how to support your children at home. The workshop will cover comprehension, creative writing, maths and reasoning as well as revision timetabling help, useful resources and interview tips. Then we shall be running a series of 11+ preparation camps for children who shall be taking the 11+ in the next academic year.

We ran these last year and here is some feedback that we received.

“I just wanted to the feedback already given about IW Schooling Consultants. Thanks to the Really Helpful Club, I discovered Isobel’s 11+ preparation courses and my daughter attended the course in the week before Christmas. Most importantly, she really enjoyed it and never complained about going each day – even when her brothers were able to sleep in! She also found it really useful – in particularly saying that there were maths questions in some of the exams that she would not have known how to do without Isobel’s help. And best of all- she did 15 hours of preparation in the run up to Christmas without a single cross word or nag from us! She now has a place at our number 1 choice of school. Thank you Isobel and the Really Helpful club.”

“I first encountered Izzy when I attended her 11+ preparation course for parents. I was so impressed that I booked my son onto her summer holiday tutoring course and I cannot recommend her, and the courses, highly enough. My 10 year old son is the most reluctant student you will find and when I finally told him (then night before) that I had signed him up for a week of intensive English training he thought his world had ended! Over the week he went from reluctant student to one who couldn’t wait to go and, each day when I collected him, he was eager to show me what he had done during that day’s session and was proud of his work. Him enjoying the course was a huge relief but more importantly we have noticed a big improvement from him in terms of how he approaches his work, the effort he puts in and, thankfully, there has been an improvement in the marks he is getting. When I mentioned to him that he would be doing some more sessions with Izzy over the October half term there was none of the usual reluctance we get when we mention the dreaded study word and he’s excited to go back, this time taking some friends with him who signed up following my, and his, recommendation.”
