Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced builder to rebuild part of a garden wall that has collapsed- we’ve had an extortionate quote . We are hoping to use a lot of the old london bricks. We’re based in Putney. Thanks

I too will be needing attention to my garden wall shortly as it is in a bad condition. I’ll be following this post and if anyone hears of someone able to do bothViolet’s wall and mine, I’d be interested to hear.

    Hi Violet,

Unfortunately, the bricklayer we usually work doesn’t have availability to take on more work or quotes at the moment. Apologies that I couldn’t assist with this, and hope you are able to find someone to do the works. I will let you know if I if hear if he frees up in the near future, and is able to take on more work.

    Kind regards,

    Hi Violet.

This job is a little small for us so apologies for not offering to quote. However reclaimed old London stock bricks are quite pricey – depending on availability they are between £1.20 and £1.80 each (plus VAT)- so a double wall can become quite a costly project.

We will ask the bricklayers we use if they have any availability for a project like this and we will come back to you if they do.

    Hope this helps.

    Kind regards,
    AJ Durrant
