Can anyone suggest good private schools in the area to look at for a boy at 7? We live near Rokeby so Rokeby & Kings are on my list (although Rokeby only take 4ish boys at 7 so that's pretty much a no go) but I keep hearing new names particularly a little bit further. Where should we look? I'd love a mixed school but I'm not sure there are any at 7 that aren't too far away.

Anyone got any suggestions and recommendations? Obviously it's hard to compare unless you've been to two schools and kids are different but any help as to where I should look would be brilliant!

    Thanks!

Feltonfleet is mixed and goes up to 13. Bus leaves from Combe flyover every morning at 7.30am and returns about 5pm. Lovely school

Hall School Wimbledon - my son has attended this mixed junior school for past 6 years. Go visit!

Thank you, I did look at The Hall but the location put me off a bit. I do have friends with girls there who love it. Maybe I should re-visit! I'm going to try to arrange a tour for Donhead (boys) and Feltonfleet (mixed).

Location isn't great but you can park at The Windmill on Wimbledon Common then it's only 10 minute walk through common. The school actually has a back door that backs on to the common.

Surbiton Prep. Current head of junior schools not so good but leaving and replacement is great.

How about Shrewsbury Lodge in Esher? Not sure about buses but mixed and popular in the area. If you're heading that way, there's also Danes Hill in Oxshott - excellent grounds and facilities.

I had a look at a lot of schools locally and chose Westbury House in New Maldon. It is a small co-ed school just over 100 children from the age of 3 to 11. It is a very nurturing school which gets good results and my son is extremely happy. In terms of drop off and collecting time there is normally no problem.

Danes Hill is brilliant and bus leaves from outside Tonys.
