Introduction to our Charity Programme
We strive to support good causes and actively encourage approaches from local charities so that we can use our unique and well-connected network to help provide much-needed promotion and funds.
We fundraise for a wide variety of charities and offer them the opportunity to promote their own events for free on our website. Please scroll down to watch the videos from past various RHC Charity events.
We support a number of School and Charity Fairs to help raise awareness and maximise the fundraising opportunity. Please contact us if you are organising a fair and would like to work with us or if you are a business and looking to exhibit at one of the upcoming fairs. We are proud to be supporting Brilliant Little Brands, Macmillan Merton, Woburn Luxury Gift Fair in aid of NSPCC. Please scroll down to view our Community Calendar for upcoming Charity events.

Our ongoing support and fundraising activities
NSPCC Childline
We are very proud to have raised over £250,000 for NSPCC Childline. In 2017, we held our inaugural Family Ball to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Charity. The event was attended by Founder Dame Esther Rantzen DBE, RHC Members and their families. The concept was unique and the event was a huge success. We held a second Family Ball in 2019 to continue to raise funds and, this time, to specifically focus on internet safety and children’s mental health.
Dragon Boat Racing
Our popular annual Dragon Boat Racing days have attracted 4,000 visitors since their inception and have raised £16,000 for Momentum, the children's charity which supports children and their families in south west London and Surrey with cancer and life-limiting conditions.
The Silver Line
As many of our members are caring for ageing parents as well as children, we also support organisations that help the elderly. Dame Esther Rantzen DBE, Founder and President of The Silver Line, was the keynote speaker at our ‘sandwich generation’ event, where we brought together experts to inspire and inform those looking for advice on intergenerational support and care.
Our other fundraising efforts have supported Macmillan Merton, Shooting Star Chase, The Haven, South London Younger Parkinson's Network, Samaritans, Olivia Hodson Cancer Fund, The Victoria Foundation, the Huntington’s Association, and Glass Door.

“I am delighted to be joining the Really Helpful Club at this unique event. It's vital that we get the conversation going about the challenges facing older people and the need to plan now across the generations. We must not be afraid to talk about the issues and to tackle them in a positive and constructive way, so that we can live our lives to the full.
As the founder of The Silver Line Helpline, I am particularly focused on loneliness and how it has grown to become an epidemic, particularly among older people. There are small things that we can do in our daily lives which can really make a difference. I'm so pleased that The Silver Line is providing friendship and helping hundreds of isolated and vulnerable older people every single day.”

Announcing NSPCC inMind
We were delighted to announce the launch of the new NSPCC inMind mental health resources platform in May 2020 during Mental Health Awareness Week. From an initial idea by the Really Helpful Club, it has been designed to offer NSPCC's staff and volunteers a hub of mindfulness-based interventions and Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy techniques, to support their wellbeing.
NSPCC inMind was developed specifically for the NSPCC workforce by RHC Directory Member, Alex James, a Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist and Mindfulness teacher, alongside Slee Parrish, an experienced Senior NHS Nurse and qualified Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist.
Some RHC Members may be aware of Alex's work as The Mindful Therapist. When Alex launched NHS inMind, a free resource to help NHS staff combat high anxiety, panic and fatigue during the pandemic, we realised that this would work perfectly for the NSPCC.
“I'd like to say a huge thank you to Sarah Austin for supporting and championing the wellbeing of our people and, through the Really Helpful Club, introducing us to Alex James, to create NSPCC inMind. We now have a brilliant resource, supporting the wellbeing of our people during the current situation and beyond. It will also help us to introduce mindfulness more widely, bringing benefits to our workforce and through us, the families and children we support."
Neil Berkett, Chairman of the NSPCC
