Your Power Decade

Thursday, 5th October 2023

Roehampton Club, London, SW15 5LR

DISCOVER YOUR SUPERPOWER!

If there was one thing we could do to achieve true happiness, wouldn’t we all do it? But life just isn’t that simple. Too often, we don’t make the most of the opportunities that come our way.  Life can get in the way; we put our work, our children and our families before ourselves.

To be happy and successful, we have to work at it. It’s all too easy to just drift, allowing the years to slip by. But working towards success and happiness can be a fun, enlightening and pleasurable journey.

Your Power Decade is about helping you discover, as well as re-discover, you! We’ll share with you real life experiences and how it is possible to build the self-confidence to reach out and grab those opportunities rather than let them pass you by.

A journey of self-discovery and self-empowerment, this transformational event will give you permission to do something for you; something you are passionate about, allowing you to feel joy and fulfilment,  reigniting and rediscovering the magic that lies within you, and empowering you to make the most of your next decade.

We are delighted to have the support of our sponsors for this year’s event – Evelyn Partners, Wimbledon Quarter and Cleveland Clinic London.

Our Speakers

Purusha Gordon

Resilience & Mindset Expert, Coach & Public Speaker - Wild + Brave Foundation
Read Bio

A Guinness World Record Breaker – Purusha started the Ocean Sheroes rowing team who went on to break the world record for the fastest all-female team of four to row across the Pacific Ocean – she definitely proves that anyone can achieve extraordinary feats if they have the right tools with which to build a positive and resilient mindset. Having turned herself around from depression and poor physical health, Purusha and her team were at sea for 35 days, rowing two hour shifts 24/7, from San Francisco to Hawaii, raising a huge £225,000.

Purusha transformed her health, wellbeing and self-belief after turning 40, inspiring her mantra that it’s never too late (or early!) to make a positive change; to confront your fears and develop a “I can and I will” approach to life.

Today, Purusha is a sought-after public speaker where she shares her amazing story as well as her positive psychology expertise with businesses and schools across the UK. She is also co-founder of  Wild + Brave Foundation, a social impact charity that brings together people from all backgrounds, using the great outdoors to encourage community spirit and develop a positive growth mindset.

In 2024, Purusha and her Ocean Sheroes rowing team are planning on hitting the waves again with an even more demanding challenge – to become the fastest all-women team in history to cross the Indian Ocean and, of course, break another world record; but also raising awareness for her Wild + Brave Foundation. Unstoppable; passionate; inspirational; Purusha’s enthusiasm and motivation is driven by her desire to help others thrive.

YOur Power Decade Testimonials

{

It was an honour to be part of such a positive and powerful morning. We learned about the power of linking our financial, physical and mental wellbeing to give permission in our hearts and in our wallets to be more alive. We aim wherever possible to help our clients to establish good financial habits. This may involve removing barriers to taking that first step which might be an uncomfortable initial conversation, or due to lack of clarity on objectives not forgetting the unpredictable nature of today’s world. We help to make your current and future financial position visible and understandable, which makes difficult decisions easier. The right financial plan for you gives you time to spend on pursuing passions and our conversation with Tom Howe evidenced his passion for the power of music and courage in following his dream from a young age. He beautifully demonstrated the ability to transform the impact of music with small intentional steps and we were reminded that the conductor doesn’t make a sound but depends for his power on his ability to make other people powerful. We delight in our role helping to address financial challenges for our clients and by doing so awakening possibility in them.

If you get the chance to be in a room full of inspirational women entering their ‘Power Decade’ you take it…Sarah has created a community that celebrates and empowers women through everyday life. Talks on business, wellness, exercise, sex life, and physical health. As a 34 year old bloke I had very little understanding of the challenges women face as they enter the different stages of menopause. It’s always rewarding stepping out of your comfort zone to learn….So, very grateful to everyone in attendance at the event.

🎶 What has an award winning music composer got to do with fabulous health and making changes?💃

I was delighted to be invited to be on the expert panel at yesterday’s fabulous ✨“Your Power Decade” 💪 event at Roehampton Club. And what a great day it was – full of wisdom, insight, inspiration and honesty – from the amazing line of speakers. Along with some wonderful hospitality and food from the team at Roehampton Club.

🎹 And we were all honoured with a special “just flown in from LA” guest appearance from multi award winning Hollywood composer Tom Howe who took to the piano to talk about his approach to composing. 🎼

And to highlight the power of tiny adjustments to bring about profound difference in the way we experience the music.🎶

So often in life we are encouraged to have big dreams, bold visions and ambitious goals. To take that big leap. 🌟

And for sure I am a big fan of that approach – especially when your comfort zone is trying hard to keep you still.

However – I am also a massive advocate and believer in the power of tiny changes to bring about ✨transformation. ✨💃

And Tom got me thinking about this again yesterday. He demonstrated so beautifully that you can take a single short simple melody – and with ONE TINY CHANGE, in a note, or the key, or rhythm or tempo, you can totally change the feel and the experience of that melody. From happy to melancholy, from sinister to playful, from anticipatory to resolved.

So – my thought to ponder over the upcoming sunny weekend – is to think about where there might be a TINY change you could make in your life that could significantly change how you experience your day.

It was a privilege to represent Cleveland Clinic London with The Really Helpful Club team and audience. I was impressed by the standard of knowledge and the passion evident in the room. My fellow contributors were inspirational, and I learnt so much.

The importance of taking care of our mental and physical wellbeing with bespoke, tailored evidence-based screening allows you the control to proactively manage your health. This was demonstrated by the achievements of all the key speakers.

Sarah, you should be so proud of all you have achieved and all you continue to do. Thank you for inviting me to be a part of your special Club.
