The Family Matters Conference was a triumph thanks to the team at Really Helpful Club who made it all possible. Experienced, knowledgeable, professional speakers all of whom were thought provoking and inspirational made the day a resounding success. To be asked to be part of the panel of speakers was a real pleasure and I felt that we covered the topics that people wanted to talk about with the benefit of our respective experiences.
For me being asked how families start potentially difficult conversations with their ageing parents was the most important aspect. It is never too early to start the conversation and to learn never to make promises that may be impossible to keep as we never know what is around the corner. My fellow panellists were experienced and enthusiastic and between us I felt that we managed to cover all aspects of searching for care solutions. It was a privilege to be part of such an important event.
