The Welfare Leader position is an essential part of the Pastoral Team and plays a key role in the smooth running of our residential summer centre. At English Study Camps (ESC), we look forward to welcoming students to our residential schools in summer 2026, and our Welfare Leaders are central to ensuring that all non-academic aspects of the programme run safely and efficiently.

Welfare Leaders support a range of residential and pastoral duties including meal and break supervision, night-time duties, room checks, and additional welfare responsibilities as required. This is a varied and hands-on role that offers the chance to develop new skills, gain meaningful experience working with young international students, and have a real impact on their wellbeing and enjoyment throughout their stay.

This is a residential position, and full board accommodation is included.

The English Study Camps Operations Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of our junior summer programmes. This position supports both the operational and administrative functions of ESC, directly contributing to the quality, safety, and overall success of our centres.

Key responsibilities include coordinating seasonal staff, managing operational planning, maintaining strong relationships with host schools and suppliers, and ensuring smooth logistical delivery of excursions and transport. The role also involves keeping accurate records, managing equipment and resources, and assisting with safer recruitment and compliance in line with KCSIE.

The Operations Coordinator oversees internal staff communications and staff-facing social media, supports the delivery of year-round short courses, and promotes a positive safeguarding culture across the organisation. This is a varied, hands-on role requiring excellent organisation, effective communication, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset. Regular travel to our residential centres during the summer is required.

Our English Language Teachers are central to the success of our summer programme. At English Study Camps (ESC), we look forward to welcoming students to our Wimbledon school in summer 2026, and our teachers play a vital role in ensuring that their experience is both educational and enjoyable.

In addition to delivering our engaging English courses in the classroom, teachers supervise and support students during a range of afternoon excursions and weekend trips. This is a stimulating, varied position that offers the opportunity to develop new skills, take on meaningful responsibility, and make a real impact on the summer experience of young international learners.

The Welfare and Student Services Manager (WSSM) is a key member of the Safeguarding and Centre Management Team and plays a vital role in ensuring that our residential centre is a safe, caring, and well-organised environment for students, staff, and visitors.

The WSSM leads by example and manages the pastoral team, providing direct line management to Welfare Leaders, House Parents, and staff who are timetabled for pastoral duties. The role involves ensuring that the boarding houses run smoothly, remain welcoming, and provide a safe place for all students to live in during their stay.

Using previous experience in boarding schools or residential settings, the WSSM contributes significantly to the students’ enjoyment and wellbeing, helping meet and exceed ESC expectations for safety, welfare, and student support. The WSSM also acts as Deputy Centre Manager when the Centre Manager is off-site or on their day off, supporting the operational running of the centre.
