Really Helpful Club helps more women upskill and get back to business

On 9th October 2019, the Really Helpful Club celebrated their fourth successful Back to Business Conference. The event brought together motivational business owners and leaders to help support and encourage those returning from a career break, starting a business, or taking an established business to the next level.

Business founders and leaders from across industry sectors shared their experiences and expertise, in a day of inspirational talks and practical roundtable sessions. Subjects ranged from social media, video for marketing, business and marketing strategy, to CV and Interview advice, website development and work/life balance techniques.

The event, held at Roehampton University, was opened by keynote speaker, financier Dame Helena Morrissey DBE, founder of the 30% Club which campaigns for gender-balanced boardrooms, and author of ‘A Good Time to be a Girl, Don’t Lean In, Change the System’.

Shaun Godfrey, Head of Marketing at St James’s Place Academy, who were the headline sponsor for the event said, “It was a privilege to be the sponsor of the event, but meeting so many engaging people was even better.”

Addie Pinkster, CEO and Founder of the investment group, Adelpha, who led a discussion panel at the conference, concurred, “(I was) proud to have hosted a panel of inspirational tech entrepreneurs in front of 200 intelligent, ambitious women (and the odd brave man) thinking about scaling up UK businesses. Dame Helena Morrissey set a high bar with a detailed, pragmatic and gripping keynote. Congratulations to Sarah Austin & Caroline Edwards for organising yet another meaningful day of content and action with the Really Helpful Club.”

Sarah Austin, founder of the Really Helpful Club said, “We’ve had tremendous feedback from everyone who came to our Back to Business Conference ‘Realising your Dreams’. It was a fantastic day all about developing your skills, expanding your network and growing your confidence. We’re delighted that we have now helped almost 1000 women in their journey back to business through these events. I’d like to thank all our event sponsors, speakers, roundtable hosts and exhibitors who came together to create an amazing opportunity for our delegates.”
