First Met You Day
A unique idea for celebrating caring relationships!
There seems to be a nonsense ‘National day of…’ celebration for almost everything under the sun these days, but we heard about one recently that we could really get behind.
Jackie, a Home Instead CAREGiver, was recently on a call with her client Michael when she realised that she had been with Home Instead for a full year. She mentioned this to Michael, who she has been matched with since day one, “It must be coming up to the first day we met.” Michael went to his diary, he keeps notes of important things he wants to remember, and sure enough there it was – almost a year ago to the day the pair had met for the first time.
Jackie’s friend had recently celebrated an anniversary of rescuing a puppy, they called it their ‘Gotcha Day’, this didn’t feel quite right, but they both liked the idea. Soon enough the very first ‘First Met You Day’ was born. There was tea, there was cake and there was celebration of their great friendship.
Jackie is quick to add that the pair are always looking for a good excuse to have tea and cake and this felt like a very good one. Well we couldn’t agree more!
